Mary has nurtured numerous foundations from conception to expansion and maximum impact, particularly in support of academic research and graduate education. Before joining Hirsch & Associates in 2000, she was marketing manager for the largest university in New Zealand. In San Francisco, she was an account executive at Hal Riney Partners advertising agency and previously worked as an account executive at Advertising Age and California magazine. With her deep expertise in client services and project management, Mary helps individuals and families plan and implement their strategies for impactful giving.
An active member of the National Center for Family Philanthropy and Northern California Grantmakers, Mary holds a B.S. in Design and a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota. She volunteers with Loaves & Fishes, spends many hours teaching kids to read, and advocates for children who have learning disabilities.
