As a longtime consultant to nonprofit and educational clients, she built excellence in teams and organizations during periods of significant transition and motivated diverse groups to work together. She is a former high school teacher who worked with under-resourced students and is a proud Oakland Unified School District parent. She currently serves on the board of the Oakland Public Education Fund and is a past Board Chair of the Japanese Community Youth Council. She holds a B.A. in Government from Cornell University and an M.A. in Education from Stanford University.
